LONDON COLLECTIONS: MEN – VOLUME ONE

Ooooh I do like a round-up.

Only the second ever men’s stand-alone fashion week, over 60 designers showed  at London Collections: Mens this week, including Alexander McQueen in her first return to London since the move to Paris in 2010.

But does menswear really need it’s own fashion week? In a word, yes. Over the past decade, menswear has gone from being somewhat of an underdog in the fashion market as a whole, to having an estimated worth in 2011 of £9.9 BILLION, and represents 50% of the luxury apparel market.

Dylan Jones, GQ editor and Chair of the Menswear Committee said of LC:M, “The inaugural men’s week was far more successful than any of us anticipated. […] LC:M has already contributed to the changing perception of menswear in this country”

With collections from over 60 designers this week, here’s my pick of the best.
